New Senior Pastor for Bethel

We are very excited that Peter Idris Taylor has joined us as the new Senior Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church.

After spending 18 years in Brackley, Northamptonshire, Merthyr-born Peter Idris is returning to his Welsh roots. He brings a wealth of experience to Bethel and a passion for discipleship that will be a great inspiration for our church family.  His understanding of working with the local community and the wider church will be a great benefit in putting our vision into practice.

We are looking forward to seeing how God’s plan for Bethel unfolds with Peter’s leadership and pastor’s heart.

He is married to Ruth, an administrator for a Training Centre and an accomplished piano tutor and accompanist.  They have a son Joe, 22, who lives and works in Guildford and daughter Esther, 19, a student in Gloucester.

Peter Idris is a creative thinker who draws on a wide range of experiences and studies. He and Ruth are very sociable; feel free to invite them for dinner, lunch or coffee!!
